             I chose to research tropical rainforests. They are mainly located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn's latitudes. Tropical rainforests' climates have short dry seasons and get a lot of rain; throughout the year, they get at least 2 inches of rainfall per month. Some examples of plants that live in this type of forest are orchids, ferns, and avocado trees. Also, the Western lowland gorilla, poison dart frog, and boa constrictor are a couple of animals that live in rainforests. Sadly, in this kind of region, deforestation is a huge problem. There is a careful balance in the food web, and trees and other plants are its base. The loss of them would mean the loss of other species of animals that consume producers or other consumers. Deforestation is happening at a rapid rate. In 2019, tropical rainforests' trees were being demolished so quickly that every minute, almost 30 soccer fields' worth of land was lost. The biggest cause of this was changing the rainforests' land to become places where people could grow crops. All in all, we need to save the unique tropical rainforests before it's too late.
