When two or more individual nouns or noun phrases are combined to form a single or longer noun phrase, it is called a compound subject. In other words,  When more than one noun is put together to act as a single subject, it is said to behave as a compound subject. For example, "My son and partner will run this company when I travel out of the country". In the sentence above, the compound subject is "My son and partner".

Predicates on the other hand are parts of a sentence that contains the action words or phrases about a subject. For example, "The truck has been sold" . The part of the sentence that reads "has been sold" is the predicate. Whilst the subject is the Truck.
