PLS HELP ASAP!! Mosquitoes can carry and transmit many diseases to humans. In the past,
the insecticide DDT was heavily used to reduce mosquito populations in
order to reduce instances of disease transmission. However, after some
time, mosquito populations developed a resistance to DDT, which made
the DDT less effective in reducing mosquito populations. Based on what
you've learned about natural selection, which answer best describes how
mosquitoes developed this resistance?

A. The mosquitoes with a genetic variation that gave them resistance to DDT were more
likely to survive and have the chance to reproduce. Over many generations, more of
the population of mosquitoes were descendants of the mosquitoes with resistance
and inherited this trait.

B. When DDT was introduced, mosquitoes worked hard to build up resistance so they
could survive. Over time, mosquitoes learned to resist DDT.
