Read the following paragraph and answer the questions below. Laney bought four bamboo plants and wants to see how long she can grow the stems. She believes that the stems will grow longer if she leaves them in the
sunlight for extended periods of time. In order to test this theory Laney leaves one plant inside and does not alter the amount of natural sunlight it receives. The
other three bamboo plants receive various amounts of light ranging from 1 hour to 5 hours of light each day. At the end of the week she notices that the plant that
received only 3 hours of sunlight each day grew longer than both the 1 hour and 5 hour plants. However, she also noticed that the inside bamboo plant grew the
longest.
