The process of translation or protein synthesis stops when the tRNA binds to any one of the three codons that are UGA, UAG or UAA.
These do not code for any amino acid therefore they send the signal for protein termination. The stop codon in the A site forces the peptidyl transferase to add the water molecule in the presence of release factors.
This frees the carboxyl end of the protein which holds the protein attached to the ribosome, therefore, the synthesised protein at that time is released into the cytoplasm.
