Equality is a good christian value, as Christ and people who followed him believe that all humans are equal, so they should be also treated in the same way regardless of race, nationality or sex. However, it was only until modern times that this idea really started to gain momentum, although not all people are on board with it, even today.

In the Roman Empire, only men above of certain classes were treated as such, were all the others classes and women where excluded by the political and social life, thus making unaccepteable for christians.
