The answer should be C, global warming.
Burning of fossil fuels releases gases like carbon dioxide or nitrous oxides, which are greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases absorbs heat from the atmosphere in order to keep the Earth warm. However, due to the increased urban activity in recent years, more and more greenhouse gases are produced and released to the atmosphere and greenhouse effect is intensified. The earth is getting hotter and hotter. This effect is called global warming.
On the other hand, increased extreme weather and decreased in food supply are also some consequences of global warming, but they're not direct effects of burning of fossil fuels. In addition, the sea level right now is rising instead of falling, also due to global warming.
Therefore, your answer should be C, global warming.
