'Bad' people, I believe, are the product of a bad world.
People are 'built' and changing over time. Factors around and inside you, and how you react to those factors, is what makes you, 'you'.
Most people who are labled as 'bad'are typically consequences of the 'evil' around them.
Some of those people believe their actions are justified in a deemed twisted sense of morality or justification,
therefore (according to them) their actions don't fall under the category 'bad'. Along the lines of a twisted morality, some may view
the world as a competition, or survival of the fittest. They believe that it is neccesary to manipulate/harm others for self-gain.
Sometimes, it's a choice. They want to become 'bad'. Whether it be a twisted fascination or villian-complex,
or they fear it so much the only way to overcome it is to become it. They may yearn for power.
It can be an attempt to fit into an environment, or a social phenomena. They crave validation through others, therefore they do 'bad' things.
Some may not even view their actions as inherently evil (towards things that are viewed obviously as bad, like the murder of innocent
people) based on outer factors, or inner ones. This is not in a sense of justification. They simply lack the concept of good and bad,
whether that be due to environmental factors (like how you were raised), or internal factors that cause anti-social/psychotic behaviour.
Good and evil are man-made concepts. That does not mean, however, we should abandon morality.
'Evil', or 'bad' people are almost always people who have been influenced by the world. Maybe due to trauma, mental illness(es) that prevents
or limits empathy/social behaviour.
But, if we were to strip away those factors, what would we be left with?
People typically prefer helping motivations over hindering ones.
That would make them inherently good.
But,there’s no way that you could ever fit something as diverse and complex as the entirety of humanity into two simple categories.
Our civil society is largely an illusion. It works only because we have all agreed (implicitly) to keep up appearances.
Many argue that our self-preservative instincts are evidence towards us being 'bad', and that we combat that 'bad' with conscious thoughts.
But, those consious thoughts are still us.
