Aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)3) is often present in antiacids to neutralize stomach acid (HCI). The reaction occurs as follow:
Al(OH)3(s) + 3HCI (aq). AlCl3(aq) + 3H20 (1)
If 14.0 g of Al(OH)3 is present in an antiacid tablet, determine the theoretical yield
of AlCl3 produced when the tablet reacts with HCI.
