judges it in a careful and thoughtful way.

When evaluating an author's style, the reader has to make sure that he remains as neutral as possible before the evaluation. Prejudice can make us adopt an attitude toward the text that will cause our views to be unfairly biased. It is not necessary to memorize passages of interest in order to evaluate an author's style. Finally, an evaluation should be more than a simple summary of the text. It requires a judgement on the methods that the author uses in order to convey a message. This judgement needs to be performed in a careful and thoughtful way.
