Evidence-based supports the conclusion that the Grims fairytales were not meant for children

Grims fairytales were based heavily on unhappy endings, and usually violent ones. They were mature, and as such meant for a more mature audience. The violence was used as warnings to problems we face as we age. As well, the sexual adult themes that were found in these stories once again shows that the Grim stories did not have children as their intended audience.
