From an early age, Jonas has rejected greed and material wealth. Throughout his life, he has lived in a small, one-room house with few comforts, yet he has always been happy and generous with his neighbors. After some filmmakers created a documentary about Jonas, his lifestyle begins to catch on; people all over the country begin to scale down their complicated lives and embrace minimalism like Jonas. The economy suffers, however, and the leaders of the industry come together to try to smear Jonas's reputation and make him seem like a fraud.
