Ji-suk helps develop the theme by explaining how her mother brought her up (like making sure she played violin and spoke korean). She says she doesn't want her son to have to go through that so she doesn't make him do that. She slightly questions if it will actually works but does it nonetheless. She mentions that if her mom was there she wouldn't let SeoJun (the son) get away with that.
