1. Gatsby wants to tell Nick the truth about himself. What is the truth he tells him? He was the son of wealthy people from the Middle West (San Francisco), his family all died leaving him a great amount of money, he went to Oxford (as did most of his family), then he went around the world living an extravagant lifestyle.
2. The police officer apologizes for pulling him over and Gatsby tells Nick that “[he] was able to do the commissioner a favor once” (Fitzgerald, 68) and he doesn't get tickets anymore. This card represents corruption and lack of justice in society.
3. Meyer Wolfsheim is Jay Gatsby's friend and a prominent figure in organized crime. Wolfsheim helped Gatsby to make his fortune bootlegging illegal liquor. He is responsible for fixing the 1919 World Series.
4. Jordan goes on tell Nick that there was this one young military man that seemed to catch Daisy's attention completely. They would spend many day together and seemed to be very much in love, but Daisy ended up marrying Tom Buchanan. Tom was a much better match for Daisy and her parents.
5. After Gatsby's funeral, which no one attends, Nick and Jordan get together because Nick wants to break things off and provide closure to their relationship. Jordan tells him that she's become engaged to someone else, and Nick doubts the truth of her statement.
