C. She said that neither fruit nor vegetables were very fresh at the market.
Explanation:
The correct subject-verb agreement is noticed in the underlined clause. In that clause, the subject is neither fruit nor vegetables and due to a rule of proximity the main verb should be in the plural form. This is the reason why the predicate of the clause runs:were very fresh ,being the last noun of the subject vegetables .

As school is near its end, my family and I cannot wait for summer break. As of every year we go to our beach house in Miami. The long plane ride there is relaxing, as I watch movies that I normlly do not have time for. Of course my little brother is a bit afriad of planes, but my father always assures him nothing will go wrong. Even with this global pandemic going on father tells us we will still go to Miami. Normally, once we land my mother takes me and my little brother to get some food while father goes to rent a car. Once the food is finished we go find father and drive over to the beach house. My brother and I always like looking out the window and observing the scenery. Once we reach the beach house it is already dark, so I help my mother and father unpack. Me and my brother go to sleep on the bunk bed, because I am older I get to sleep on the top. Eager for whats to come I still manage to fall asleep. My brother wakes me up at around 8:00 AM, begging that I go to the beach with him. Of course i accept. As we quickly change and run towards the beach, i hear my mother call for me. I reluctantly go back pulling my brother with me. She tells us to eat breakfast before we go swim. I quickly gulped down my lemonade and gobble my waffles and impatiently wait for my brother to finish. When he finished once again we ran down to the beach, but this time I felt the cold water rush through my body. After long hours of playing we go back in. Lunch is already waiting for us.
