Rainsford killed Zaroff and slept in the general's bed.
Further explanation:
The story "The Most Dangerous Game" written by Richard Connell covers the theme of hunting and predating as a symbolism. The symbolical interpretation of the predation revolves around being superior and powerful over the other creature. The plot of the story is a mysterious Island where the sailors fear to pass through. Two passengers Whitney and Rainsford are on their way to hunt when they came to know about the island. In a little accident, Rainsford's leg slipped and he fell in the water. He swam and reached the island. He met with General Zaroff and his servant Ivan. While having dinner they went into an argument about the most dangerous game on the island. Zaroff describes his feelings to hunt a different kind of animal. He was even bored with hunting down humans. He wanted to try a game which would be more dangerous and adventurous. It was later in the story that they entered into a fight. Zaroff gave the proposal that whoever who loose would be fed to the dogs while the other would sleep on his bed. Towards the end of the story, it is revealed that Rainsford had never slept so comfortably on any bed. This symbolizes that he had killed Zaroff.
