This is the only answer in which the sentence is understandable in terms of meaning, as well as correct in terms of syntax.

"Career" has to be placed immediately after "subsequent" because the latter is an adjective describing the former.The phrase "that the lesson was well learned" needs to come after the main verb of the sentence, which is "(would) indicate," because "that the lesson was well learned" is what is indicated.
