I would personally say that the main idea in this excerpt is that King believes that the law is once again being unreasonable and questionable at times, when he was causing no damage nor harm to anyone around him but creating a political movement. In the paragraph 4 Dr. King sates that, " Now there is nothing wrong with an ordinance which requires a permit for a parade, but when the ordinance is used to preserve segregation and to deny citizens the First Amendment privilege of peaceful assembly and peaceful protest, then it becomes unjust.". Later in paragraph 6 King educates us when he says, " It was "illegal" to aid and comfort a Jew in Hitler's Germany.". With this King not only shows us how the law can be unrealistic when it comes to segregation but also in the times of Hitler.
