I knew that I shouldn't do it, but something inside of me encouraged me to go to the forbidden third floor of the mansion and open the black mahogany door with the red keep-out sign on it.
It was dark, very dark. I couldn't see anything. It was the only room without windows, and I was starting to think that there wasn't any lightbulb. After an endless minute of touching the wall, I was able to find the light switch.
When the yellow light from the bulb cast on the objects present in the room, I wish I hadn't opened the door. Their faces, especially their eyes, all of them were looking at me. Some in a happy way, but others were telling me to run. I was petrified by the number of embalmed animals present in the large room. Birds, cats, dogs, tigers, lions, even an elephant!.
It turned out that I found the family's secret tradition. Embalming their pets and hunted animals, as the book on the tiny table on my left said. The book had hundreds of stories since it was something that my ancestors started, and every generation in my family continued with the tradition. The last story was written by my father and how he hunted a bear. I will never see him as I used to do. He is a killer in my eyes.
Explanation:
A story has three main parts. First, we have the beginning, where we set the scene and present the characters. Then we transition to the problem. Lastly, we have the end of the story where the problem is solved or not.
It is crucial to use descriptive language to help to create the environment that we want in every part of the story. Also, it allows the reader to be immersed in the story and connect with the characters.
