Self-driving cars are no different than smartphones because both make our lives more convenient. We need solutions for our current problems. The citizens of this city approved the new high-tech signs on our freeways, so it does not make sense why they would hesitate to allow self-driving cars. Planes fly on auto pilot. So why not cars?
