1. Each of the following terms is taken verbatim from the First Amendment. Read
through the list and then underline each word or term where it appears in the
text of the First Amendment. Next, define each term. Feel free to use a dictionary
or other resource as allowed or provided by your teacher.

There are 4 types of figurative language

1) simile
when you compare one thing to a different thing by using like or as

ex: you look like a moon !

2) metaphor
metaphor is the same as simile but without using like or as

ex:
you’re a moon !

3) personification:
when you compare a no living thing to a human for example

ex: the door shouts at me

4) Symbolism is using an object or a word to represent an abstract idea

ex:Dove represents peace
