document.
Assignment Instructions
Step 1: Gather materials and necessary information.
a) Keep your lesson open in case you need to review what you learned.
b) Save the assignment questions (attached to this document) to a new location so you can
add the required information. Alternatively, you may be able to print the document and
complete the assignment by hand before submitting it. Ask your teacher for guidance.
c) Review all the assignment questions before you begin the assignment.
Step 2: Complete the task by fulfilling each requirement and answering each question.
a) Read and follow each set of instructions carefully. Ensure that your answers provide the
details requested in each question.
b) Use presentation or word-processing software to complete the charts and graphs
needed for the assignment. Alternatively, if your teacher approves, you may create your
charts and graphs by hand using graph paper, a straight edge, and pens or markers.
c) Keep each graph that you construct. You may find it easier to adapt an existing graph
rather than creating one from scratch.
d) Answer every part of the question. Be sure to read the question carefully. If anything is
unclear, ask your teacher for assistance.
Student Guide (continued)

Explanation:
An isobar can be defined as an imaginary or physical line drawn on a map and typically used for joining (connecting) places having equal or constant atmospheric pressure.
Also, change in the temperature of various locations on an isobaric map are denoted by wavelike patterns.
An elongated region of warm air aloft (above ground) shows up on an isobaric map as higher heights and a ridge; the colder air shows as lower heights and a trough.
Basically, cold air lofts are directly related to low atmospheric pressure or low heights while warm air lofts represents high atmospheric pressure or high heights.
