1. LBJ  went on a press conference to defend the need for a military DRAFT to induct more men into the army. The draft brought men within the age bracket of 18 to 26 old(baby boomers) into the army so as to increase the number of soldiers on the war front. President Johnson did this with the support of the Congress who voted overwhelmingly in favor of him drafting and recruiting more young men into the army.

2. The Vietnam war was known as the "television war" because it was the main source whereby news is transmitted to American people about the happenings at the war front in Vietnam. Film of recorded events was sent to Tokyo for editing which was later sent to the U.S through satellite. The anchor only reports brief on the report sent because most of the news are not fresh but edited.

Other means of dissemination of the war information to American people include radio, newspaper, etc.

3. The protest which was majorly lead by the students protesting against the war almost turned it against the country. They believe that American has no reason waging war against the Vietnamese. Others who join the protest were agitating the killings of the American soldiers on the field.

The student movement, with other anti-protesters including civil societies, was using their protest to turn against the government in the war because they see it as a great mistake made. They were against the use of Young and inexperienced American soldiers to fight the war.

We must also state that the pieces of information that were passed through the television about the situation of the war were incomplete and have been doctored.
