How did antebellum era romanticism contrast with the culture of the age of reason in previous revolutionary era

Antebellum era romanticism was mostly emphasized on intuition, feelings as well as individual acts of heroism and the study of nature whereas on the other hand the age of reason emphasized mostly on balance, order, and reason.

The Antebellum era was known for many social reform movements that were based on the urge to demolish evil and make better human conditions in society. They were dealing with a wide variety of reforms to provide positive changes to society, these movements were mostly related to reforms that were received from different degrees of Success.

During the period of Antebellum, the second great awakening was behind advocacy about several reform topics that included women's rights. During the antebellum reform, societal changes were undertaken by American Christians in the later stages of the 18th century which included Temperance, Rights of women as well as movements related to abolitionism.  

On the other hand, if we talk about the culture of the age of reason that was the work of English and American political activists named Thomas Paine, arguing for the philosophical position which was related to deism. It followed the tradition of British deism and along with that the challenges which were institutionalized with regards to religion and the legitimacy of the bible.
