A) Explain ONE conclusion about the Spanish Empire between 1493 and 1700 that can be drawn from the data.
After the Spanish conquistadors found silver in the New World, a huge amount of silver entered the trading circulation. This led to each of the major civilizations getting a spike in the amount of silver available. This example can be drawn from the data from the fact that from 1493-1600 there was ~750,000,000 fine ounces of silver and from 1601-1700 there was ~1,270,000,000 fine ounces of silver (a ~500,000,000 difference) in the world.
B) Explain ONE conclusion about the use of silver as currency in China in this period that can be drawn from the data.
China had a spike in the amount of silver in their trading circulation which can be seen in the data. From 1493-1600 there was 25,000,000 fine ounces of silver and from 1601-1700 there was 75,000,000 fine ounces of silver in Asia's trading circulation. This means that the amount of fine ounces of silver in China increased by 50,000,000 fine ounces.
C) Explain ONE conclusion about how silver changed the world economy in this period that can be drawn from the data.
The silver found in the New World majorly changed the world economy because of the huge increase of it. Silver became less valuable as it's price deflated, which can be seen in the data from the fact that from 1493-1600 there was ~750,000,000 fine ounces of silver and from 1601-1700 there was ~1,270,000,000 fine ounces of silver (a ~500,000,000 difference) in the world. Spain had an increase in wealth because silver, Spain's main currency, was more prominent in the trading circulation.
