During the Reformation, people were encouraged to question the traditional dogmas of the Catholic Church. Protestant churches claimed that the Church had been corrupted by the private interests of its people, and therefore, encouraged Christians to listen to their inner conscience and their own morality. This focus on personal beliefs promoted the idea of individualism, which led to a significant change of culture in countries with a significant Protestant population.

The Bolsheviks encouraged colonial people to follow their experience. It inspired a number of freedom movement in other countries. Many non-Russians from outside the country participated in the conference. Some even received education from communist university of the workers of the earth. By the time the 2nd world war broke socialism had acquired a global face. Though by the end of the century the image of USSR and a socialist country declined.
