How might manifest destiny later affect u.s. relations with native americans?

Manifest destiny was about expanding westward. This meant that the US believed that they should take the land that was populated by Natives. It made the relations worse because many didn't want to leave their homeland and some even fought wars. Those who did go to reservations often died on the way there because the journey was dreadful.
