Second case said that Cherokee weren't under control of state and overruled 1st case.
3) Almost, if not all Indians in the US were no longer owners of their own land and had to live on reservations.
4) The purpose was to bring awareness to the suffering of the Indians. The people's faces in the painting are sad and depressed.
