Explanation:
1- Thomas Jefferson, born April 13, 1743 in Shadwell (Virginia colony) and died July 4, 1826 in Monticello (Virginia), was an American statesman, third president of the United States, in office from 1801 to 1809. He was also the first Secretary of State of the United States between 1790 and 1793 and Vice President from 1797 to 1801.
2- Alexander Hamilton was an American politician, general and economist. Considered one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, he was the first Treasury Secretary of the United States.
3- Edmund Randolph was an American lawyer and politician. He was the seventh governor of Virginia, the second secretary of state and the first attorney general of the United States.
4- George Washington was the first president of the United States between 1789 and 1797 and commander-in-chief of the Continental Army in the War of Independence of the United States (1775-1783). He is considered one of the founding fathers of the United States along with John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.
5- Henry Knox, born July 25, 1750 in Boston (Massachusetts Bay Province) and died October 25, 1806 in Knox County (named in his honor, Maine), was an American military officer who became commander-in-chief of the Continental Army Artillery before being the first US Secretary of War.
6- The expedition of Lewis and Clark was the first carried out by Americans that crossed the west of the current United States. The expedition members left from near San Luis, Missouri, went west and crossed much of North America to reach the Pacific Ocean.
The expedition was commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson immediately after the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. It was composed of a select group of volunteer officers of the United States Army under the command of Captain Meriwether Lewis and his friend, Second Lieutenant William Clark. Their dangerous journey lasted from May 1804 to September 1806. The main objective of the expedition was to explore and map the newly acquired territory, open a safe route through the western half of the continent and establish American presence in the extensive area before Great Britain or other European powers tried to claim it.
