The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, signed between Mexico and the United States on February 2, 1848, at the end of the War of American Intervention, established that Mexico ceded to the Americans almost half of its territory, which included the totality of what Today are the states of California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and part of Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming.
