There were many factors which led to the war, but religion was one of them, because the Maronite Christians were generally in power, although a majority of Lebanese were Muslims and these two groups had different ideologies, especially as between the 70's and 90's, many world changes were taking place and the ideas in regards to this between these groups differed.
