The correct answer is C. The diagram below describes the Battle of Little Bighorn.
Explanation:
The Battle of Little Bighorn was an armed confrontation between the combined forces of the Lakota, Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes against the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army. The battle took place on June 25 and 26, 1876, near the Little Bighorn River, in the territory of Montana, and was the most prominent action of the Black Hills War of 1876.
The confrontation resulted in an overwhelming victory of the Indian coalition, which was led by several prominent tribal chiefs such as Crazy Horse and Chief Gall, inspired by the visions of Sitting Bull. The 7th Cavalry was a force of about 700 men led by Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer who, despite having modern rifles, suffered a total defeat against an enemy superior in number. Five of the twelve companies that composed it were annihilated, Custer fell dead, as well as two of his brothers, a nephew and a brother-in-law. The US casualties were 268 dead and 55 wounded, including six Indian scouts in the service of the army.
