Jesus says the disciples will have the Holy Spirit and the authority to forgive sins and to withhold forgiveness. In Acts, Jesus promises the disciples that the Holy Spirit will inspire them. God has reached out to us. Christ has died for us. Christ lives again for us. We need only accept God’s grace humbly through Christ, turn away from the wrongs we have done, and receive Christ as our Lord and Savior. Then we are ready for the first steps in the Christian life.
