The immigrants had to face several challenges when they arrived in the United States.
Explanation:
The earliest immigrants to America were from countries like Germany, Ireland and Italy. They came in the 1800s and had to face prejudice and discrimination in America. Language was a barrier to them and they had to face poverty and unemployment which in the first place led them to leaving their homeland.
The first German immigrants included Anabaptists who faced persecution in Germany for their beliefs. They settled in America and worked as farmers or skilled craftsmen. The later German immigrants were political activists who failed to unite Germany. Irish people migrated to US faced by severe famine and poverty.
