The Pilgrims left England and went to the Netherlands and America seeking freedom from King James rule, they believe in the "Holy Land", making an "act of devotion" of a long distance journey to a sacred and foreign place; they also believed the Anglican and Catholic churches were corrupt.
The Roman Catholics separated from England in King Henry VIII's times around 1534 and among their beleifs they have: Baptism to become a Christian and the Resurrection of Jesus as well.
