Colonialism is known to have made African colonies dependent by making a mono- cultural economy for the territories. It known to also have maltreated African labor force and traders.
Britain was known to take possession of the Dutch Cape colony in 1806. This brought about resistance from the independence-minded Boers. They were against the Anglicization of South Africa and Britain's anti-slavery policies.
