Most nations that discuss the issue of Palestinian independence call for a two-state solution.
Further explanationThe Israeli-Palestinian conflict is very ancient. Tensions between Jewish and Arab communities have lasted for centuries in this region. They increased during the twentieth century especially after 1948, when Palestine was divided by united nations into three sectors such as an Arab sector, a Jewish sector, and a shared international sector. Both sides have never accepted this division and claim each more territory. This struggle has caused many deaths over the past 70 years through wars and terrorist attacks.
To solve the problem, most of the countries in the United Nations would like to create two distinct states, one for the Jews and one for the Arabs. Unfortunately, the two communities can not agree on these new frontiers. Israelis don’t want to abandon the settlements that they founded on Palestinian territory and do not trust their Arab neighbors. On the other hand, violent terrorist organizations still exist in Palestine and do not agree to negotiate. That’s why this conflict has continued for all those years without a concrete solution that seems possible shortly.
