The second presidential succession act of 1886
State that if there is anything wrong with the president or the vice president that won't allow both to be in office, the secretary of state should act as the president until the president is fit to come back or with another election,a new president will emerge, it became law on January 19, 1886, with President Cleveland's signature.
The presidential succession of 1947 happen when Harry S. Truman sent a message to Congress urging the revision of the Presidential Succession Act of 1886. He recommended that the speaker of the House and president pro tempore of the Senate be restored to and given priority in the presidential line of succession over members of the Cabinet. The arrangement was first not accepted but later was accepted by both house of Congress.President Truman signed the bill into law on July 18.
