Between 1940 and 1944, the Gross National Product of the United States of America increased enormously, more than the double of the previous years.
The Gross National Product of a country is defined as the set of final goods and services produced by their production factors and sold in the market during a given period, usually one year.
During the World War II, the Gross National Product increased as a result of the increase of industrial and productive activities, which were taken literally to the possible limit of production, in order to cover the expenses of the war and provide resources to the American forces fighting in Europe and the Pacific.
