A mapping diagram is where the domain of a set of coordinate points is in the left box, and where the range is in the right box, (doesn't necessarily have to be a box), and all the numbers are interconnected based on the coordinate points.
The domain is each unique x coordinate of a coordinate point put together into a set and in numerical order, and the range is each unique y coordinate of a coordinate point put into a set in numerical orer.
The arrows are what connect a domain value to it's respective range value. For example, the domain value -3 would be connected to the range value 1 with an arrow.
So in this case, -3 would be connected to 1, 0 to 6, 3 to 2, and 5 to -1.
You're now just looking for an example where all of those are connected with arrows, and in numerical order. That would be the first choice in your first picture.
