The limitation when using a line of best fit in a scatter plot to make predictions is that: "It is possible to draw different lines to approximate the same data". 

In making a line of best fit, you choose two points from the given scatter plot that you think are closest to the possible values of the scatter plot. From the line of best fit created from these two points, an equation to the scatter plot is then created. However, another person may choose two different points, thus making a different equation than your own, resulting in another equation which may still lead to the same result. Contrary to the name, the line of best fit is at best, an approximation.
