Please read the answers to Part A, B, and C below.
Complete question, statements and table:
Attaching the correct table
Source:
Previous question that can be found at
Step-by-step explanation:
1. Let's complete the information in the frequency table:
Like hamburgers Does not like hamburgers Total
Likes burritos 29 41 70
Does not like burritos 81 54 135
Total 110 95 205
Part A. What percentage of the survey respondents did not like either hamburgers or burritos?
Like the question is either hamburgers OR burritos, we will sum 41 respondents that do not like hamburgers but like burritos, 81 that do not like burritos but like hamburgers and 54 that don't like neither hamburgers nor burritos.
41 + 81 + 54 = 176
Percentage = 175/205 = 85.9% (rounding to the next tenth)
Part B: Create a relative frequency table and determine what percentage of students who like hamburgers also like burritos.
Like hamburgers Does not like hamburgers Total
Likes burritos 14.1% 20% 34.1%
Does not like burritos 39.5% 26.4% 65.9%
Total 53.6% 46.4% 100% To calculate this percentage we just take the number of respondents who like hamburgers and from that total we found that 29 also like burritos.
Percentage = 29/205 = 14.1% (rounding to the next tenth)
Part C: Use the conditional relative frequencies to determine which two data point has strongest association of its two factors. Use complete sentences to explain your answer.
There is a strong association between "like hamburgers" and "does not like burritos" because there are 81 respondents of the survey out of 110 (73%) that like hamburgers but not like burritos. On the other hand, there is also a strong association between "likes burritos" and "does not like hamburgers": 41 out of 70 respondents (59%) actually like burritos but don't like hamburgers. Therefore, most likely a person that like hamburgers does not like burritos and a person that likes burritos does not like hamburgers.
