1. The student changed -5x to -6x -1x. You can not simplify things like that, and it is not even equal to it’s original value.

2. The student correctly had x and -1 outside of the parenthesis, and should have stopped solving there. But those numbers totally vanished.

The answer is D. Because if it's 5x the width then make length 5x and width x so 12x because two lengths and two widths makes it 12x=96 divide and you get x=8 which means width is 8 cm
