Kwan said that the product of 56 × 213 is 103. how can you tell that his answer is wrong?

Note that this multiplication problem has two (2) multiplicands; that is, two (2) numbers being multiplied by each other;  which are:  "56" and "213"

The "product" refers to the number obtained when multiplicands in a multiplication problem are multiplied together.

In this case, the product given is:  " 103 " ; which is smaller than one of the "multiplicands" in the problem — specifically, "213" !

This does not make sense; and this along tells us that the answer — "213" ; is incorrect.

Furthermore, if we multiply the two (2) given multiplicands:

  56 * 213  ;  we get:  " 11,928 " ;  which is much greater than:  " 103 " .
