It will help you more if I manage to get you involved here, instead of just giving you answers.

You want the equation of a line parallel to y = x + 5 and passing through the point (-1,-1).  If two lines are parallel, their slopes are equal.  Thus, the slope of the new line is 1.    Let's use the point-slope form of the eqn of a str. line here:

y-[-1] = 1(x-[-1]), or y+1 = x + 1. 

Would you please follow this pattern and try to find the equation of a new line that is parallel to y = -3x + 1 and passes through the point (2,4).
