a=1/2*b*h 
a= 1/2*5*12
a=1/2*60
a=30*2= 60 (for both triangles)

13*14= 182
14*12= 168
5*14= 70

60+70+168+182= 480

that is the answer. 

3. find the area. 

a=1/2*b*h
a=1/2*6*2
a= 6

a=1/2*3*7
a= 10.5

10.5-6= 4.5 cm^2

0.5*0.5= 0.25

a=1/2bh
a=1/2*0.5*0.4
a=0.1*4=.4

.65 square inch. 

15.9+19.6+17.5= 53
