You are asked to write an equation using one variable that can be used to find the total number of liters of grape juice and lemon-lime soda in the punch, define the variable used in the equation and how many liters of grape juice are present in the punch. 

Let us say that "x" represents the number of liters of grape juice
0.6x → 0.6 is the fraction of the grape juice and x is the unknown number
0.4(2) → 0.4 is the fraction of the lemon lime juice and 2 is the total number of liters
2 - x→ is the total number of grape juice and lemon-lime juice

equate everything and you have this equation
0.6x + (0.4)(2) = 2 - x
0.6x + 0.8 = 2 - x
x = 0.75
