x = 36
y = 59
Step-by-step explanation:
Ok so line TS and line TR are adjacent angles cuz the angles are next to each other. Adjacent angles always equal to 180 degrees. Angles that are the vertical of each other(or vertical angles) always have the same degree. Line TP and TQ are adjacent angles. Line TP and TR though are vertical angles for an example.
So for y, what you do is 2y + y + 3 = 180. Like I said, Line TS and TR are adjacent angles. That's why I have to do this.
2y + y = 3y cuz 2 + 1 = 3
3y + 3 = 180
Now you just subtract 3 from 180.
180 - 3 = 177
3y = 177
Then you divide 177 by three.
3y/3 = 177/3 = 59
Ok so, y = 59
Now for x, what you do is 3x + 2x = 180. Like I said, Line TP and TQ are adjacent angles. That's why I have to do this.
3x + 2x = 5x cuz 3 + 2 = 5
5x = 180
Now I just divide 180 by five
5x/5 = 180/5 = 36
Ok so, x = 36
Therefore, x = 36 and y = 59.
Simple Bro! Hard part was explaining this to you.
