let s be the amount Seiji earned and g be the amount Gavin earned.

As per the condition; together Seiji and Gavin earned a total of $ 425.

then we have;

s + g = 425             [1]

Also, Gavin earned $ 25 more than Seiji

⇒ g = 25 + s

Therefore, the system of equation we have;

s + g = 425

g = 25 + s

s + g = 425

g = 25 + s
