1. add 4 to each side, |-n-8|=8then multiply by -1, |n+8|=-8subtract 8, |n|=-162. subtract 2 from each side, |-4+4n|=20then add 4, |4n|=24, divide by 4, and |n|=63. divide each side by 6, |r|=3 or r=4. subtract 1 from each side, |2n|=10,divide by 2, |n|=5
